Hi:

This is the website for Owen Carter, a British guy who has been living in Amsterdam for the last 11 years.

I'm afraid there is nothing earth-shattering here, no solutions for World Peace, no cures for peoples ills.. Just a few of my photos and ramblings.

Ding-Dong! Campbell’s Gone!

About time too, but the spin wil doubtless continue anabated.

Feeling Partisan?

“Oh, I’ve said for years that ideology is a mental illness that simply has yet to be recognized as such my the mental health community.
“I had the epiphany in 1995 after reading a book on criminal profiling (“Mindhunter” by John Douglas- highly recommended), and then turning on a Sunday morning political wonk show. I realized there was little to no difference in the thought processes between a hard core ideologe and a serial killer. They both have minds that actively remanufacture reality as it occurs around them. It’s like they have built little mini-Matrixes in their heads. They’ve pulled to wool down over their own eyes. I’m going to write a my own book on it when I retire.”

Yep.. Seems correct to me. Seen on /.

How far will you go?

To make a stand against things that are wrong with our world?

Extropians Exist!

Are you a ‘transhumanist‘? Very scary that people can be this contemptuous of the rest of mankind.

The land grab continues..

Dick Cheanies Haliburton now runs the Oil industry in Iraq.
Now they’ve skewed mobile phone contract rules to favour US companies and to block out most European (Iraq is probably better off without Vodaphone..) and Middle Eastern companies (thats another slap in the face to Muslim’s from America).

Quote

I don’t blame anybody. It’s human nature to try and cover up mistakes. They’re faceless people who won’t be called to account so what’s the point?”

Be afraid.. Be very afraid.

I hope this article is very wrong, ‘cos if not the Bush Taliban will kill us all.

Roy

“There are moments when he exhibits a fault which was originally attributed to Gladstone – not only of hiding a card up his sleeve but behaving as if God put it there.”Roy Hattersley on the subject of Tony Blair.

Fanatic politics

‘According to Doidge, one of the essential features of fanatics is their certainty that not only is their cause good “but that it is the only good, an absolute good.” Or as President Bush famously declared: “There is no in-between, as far as I’m concerned. Either you’re with us, or you’re against us.”‘

- Interesting to note that there are still people who ‘get it’ within the American political system.

Weapons of Mass Destruction?

Maybe I can believe Blair when he says this.

Not in my name.

Bush wants to think that Holland supports him. The interim craven government might do, but I’ve got news for you George. Others don’t.

Skepticism

7 good tests for pseudo-science.
