Hi: This is the website for Owen Carter, a British guy who has been living in Amsterdam for the last 11 years.
I'm afraid there is nothing earth-shattering here, no solutions for World Peace, no cures for peoples ills.. Just a few of my photos and ramblings.

March 5th, 2004 | Owen I really, really, hate spammers, they’re just sad little morally and ethically corrupt gimps.
One of these antisocial idiots is using my ‘owen.demon.nl’ domain as a faked from: and reply-to: domain in their garbage e-mails at the moment, peddling crooked money schemes and internet casino’s.
Nothing I can do about it I’m afraid, my condolences to anyone who came here after receiving one of these mails. Please be assured that I did not send them.
October 16th, 2003 | Owen A well-worn phrase, but quite appropriate when it comes to the Music industry at present.
- The copyright notice on that article made me smile too:
“All material on azoz.com is protected by copyright law and by international treaties, but it all seems rather pointless.
You may reprint any article on this site in whole, in part, in effigy or in ridicule.
I really don’t care.”
- Genius!
October 10th, 2003 | Owen This company created a ‘CD anti-piracy’ technique that relies on windows ‘autorun’ feature to install a piece of malware when you put the CD in the PC’s CD drive. This can be by-passed by simply holding the ‘Shift’ key of your PC when you put the CD in the drive (this temporarily disables autorun), or just disable autorun completely (like I do).
So, Some academics looked at this marvellous innovation in anti-piracy software, and realised that it was hopeless and can be by-passed by anybody with half a brain-cell. They published their results, and now Sunncomm is threatening to sue them for millions of dollars.
Is corporate america sad or what?
September 26th, 2003 | Owen Kalymnos is a fantastic place, I just wish the company had been better. I’ll sort out my holiday pictures when I get some time to generate the albums on my PC.
September 16th, 2003 | Owen …take the Long Swim, it actually works out too short, I’m glad I’m a good swimmer.
September 10th, 2003 | Owen To both Hamas and The Israeli Army. You’rte not part of the solution. You are part of the problem.
September 8th, 2003 | Owen A amazing crock of nonsense! No wonder they want to stop you seeing it until you’ve had years of prior brainwashing.
September 3rd, 2003 | Owen Be careful what you save, Writable CD’s are showing signs that they age pretty quickly.
July 24th, 2003 | Owen Humm, well I really can’t actually be bothered to write anything after this about Railair, that bunch of loosers have already cost me time and money.. However, if anyone reads this who is relying on Railair to transport them from Heathrow to their destination after flying to the UK, especially if you’re arriving on a late flight. Well… have a backup plan ready..
July 23rd, 2003 | Owen This is old news, but I have not really posted it yet. Dates from my last visit to UK, where Railair (a private company that operates bus links between Airports and Train stations, since the UK has failed to actually integrate public transport). Sucks big time. They have a real customer service problem caused by low-quality poorly motivated staff who treat customers like idiots.
I’ll write it up fully for a ‘Railair Sucks’ page soon, menwhile, heres a link to another story, to which I added my own.
July 21st, 2003 | Owen When you spin, you distort truth for your own advantage. Distorting truth is just another form of a lie. You are just another liar.
Here are two pertinent quotes from this article:
[The BBC] has had its journalistic practices endlessly scrutinised and criticised, often by a national press whose own hygiene standards are far lower than those of the corporation.
Any correspondent who files reports for the BBC which are off-message knows what to expect; either an abusive tirade from Campbell in person or a multipaged letter complaining to their boss of their lack of journalistic rigour, or sometimes both.
Here are some more interesting points.
July 18th, 2003 | Owen Meybe this is the WMD proof they’re looking for
