The BBC website (international version) has just adoped a design style with ‘tabs’ at the top to aid navigation. And, despite my initial ‘so what’ response, I looked at the site and found that in fact I rather like the design. I may even use something like that when this site next gets a makeover. Spam is a nuiscance, and the people who send it are generally at the ‘pond-life’ end of the business ethics scale. But it’s always embarassing to see well-meaning politicians and consumer programs talking about it, since they just don’t understand what the hell they’re talking about. Fortunately, Bill Thompson, has a nice piece on the BBC’s webwise section that explains why it cant simply be solved by legislating ISP’s, in words even Watchdog should be able to understand. |
