Hi: This is the website for Owen Carter, a British guy who has been living in Amsterdam for the last 11 years.
I'm afraid there is nothing earth-shattering here, no solutions for World Peace, no cures for peoples ills.. Just a few of my photos and ramblings.

December 15th, 2006 | Owen The Diana enquiry report came out. Drunk driver trying to outrun paperazzi, in probably the worlds safest car, three people were not wearing seat belts. They died, the one who belted up survived, that says more about this than any conspiracy theory.
Thinking of conspiracy, I feel really sorry for Mohamed Al-Fayed, I don’t blame him about his reaction because the British establishment -is- crap enough to have murdered her, but in this case an accident is the most plausible explanation.. And Al Fayed is a man who has lost his son and is in terrible grief, he has my deepest sympathy.

September 7th, 2006 | Owen ..the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.
- Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Göring during the Nuremberg Trials.
August 30th, 2006 | Owen “Ah, but that doesn’t matter in today’s politics. All you have to do is find a single instance of someone from the other side doing something similar to what you’re doing, and that makes it magically okay for you to continue doing it.
There are no ethics anymore. Instead of people striving to be ethical, they just strive to find other people being unethical so they can excuse their own unethical behavior.”
Too True.. from a /. discussion.
June 30th, 2006 | Owen “…you can drill into your kid that the internet is full of weird people and christians.”
- ‘David’, in a letter to my favorite newspaper, The Register.
April 13th, 2006 | Owen Nice products, but when I arrive at the collection counter and get ticket 160 I thought ‘great’ since they had just brought out number 157.
30 Minutes later I got the 36×40 cm piece of wood I needed to collect. It could of quite easily been in the self-service part, like the other 8 pieces of the small cabinet I was buying.
Needless to say I did not buy anything at the food counter which is ‘conveniently’ nearby.
Well, you transparent and crap prats, there are lots of nice furniture shops and I’ll go elsewhere next time.
April 10th, 2006 | Owen This is war. And wars for the customers’ hearts and minds are won by ridicule, bad manners and SHOUTING!!! And, above all else, never give in to reality. - The Register.
January 27th, 2006 | Owen Cingular tries to patent selecting emoticons (:-O) on a mobile phone. The worlds patent systems are really, really broken.
December 1st, 2005 | Owen Interesting item discussing why the ability of scientists to disprove evolution makes it more believable than Faith in a creator.

August 19th, 2005 | Owen While reading the article linked in the previous posting, I saw a nice quote:
“My religion is better than yours.. Because I don’t have one.”
Must remember that, it could be useful.
August 19th, 2005 | Owen 13 percent of Americans believe Joan of Arc was the wife of Noah..
Oh Dear.
